The boys soccer team followed up a tough draw against Northwest by defeating Watkins Mill, 1-0 to improve their record to 2-1-1.
The Vikes took an early lead half way through the first half on a header goal by senior Kourosh Ashtary-Yazdi.
They were able to hold onto the lead despite sloppy play late in the second half and the loss of senior defender Lucas Knight to a head injury.
“Our chemistry has improved with every game and it feels like we’re coming together as a team,” sophomore forward Jeff Rosenberg said. “Once we start finishing goals, we’ll be where we want to be.”
The Vikes controlled the pace and possession of the game with another strong performance by their midfielders, and in particular, senior Vegas Kastberg had another exceptional game.
The boys will face Blair at home next Monday and look to secure another win.
