The baseball team defeated the Blair Blazers 9-3 April 24, improving its record to 11-2.
The boys got off to a hot start and never looked back, scoring four runs in the first inning and three in the second.
Second baseman Ben Castagnetti led the way with three hits and two RBI’s, while designated hitter Max Vogel contributed two hits and two RBI’s.
Pitcher Gabe Steinberg pitched a complete game, recording 19 first-pitch strikes and six strikeouts.
The Vikes’ outstanding defense limited the high-powered Blazers offense to just three runs by committing only one error and making quick, accurate plays in the field.
“It feels great to be winning against solid competition,” Steinberg said. “I feel that we have the depth necessary to keep winning while Patrick is injured.”
The team looks to improve its record to 12-2 when it takes on the Damascus Hornets April 27.
