The baseball team beat the previously undefeated Quince Orchard Cougars 5-3 April 9, advancing its record to 6-1.
The Vikes cemented their position as one of the top teams in Montgomery County by defeating Quince Orchard, who was previously the second ranked public school.
Offensively, the team was led by DH Max Sessions and centerfielder Drew Aherne, who each drove in multiple runs.
Right fielder Mike Yang made several key plays in the field, preventing the Cougars from extending their hits. Pitchers Gabe Steinberg, Alex Claduhous and Patrick Hisle limited the Cougars high-powered offense to just three runs, with Hisle coming in to close the game.
“QO was undefeated up until this point,” third baseman Andrew Castagnetti said. “It felt really good to get a win over one of the best teams in the county.”
The boys look to extend their win streak to eight games when they take on the 1-6 Churchill Bulldogs April 11 at home.
