A Montgomery County Public Schools schoolbus was involved in a crash with a Lexus and a Hyundai at the intersection of River Rd. and Whittier Blvd. at 2:07 p.m. Feb. 13. There were no students on the bus, and all three vehicles were towed, public information officer Rebecca Innocenti said.
At least one person was taken away on a stretcher, according to eyewitness reports.
The police will conduct an investigation of the crash and MCPS will conduct an internal investigation of the bus driver, MCPS spokesperson Dana Tofig said.
“We do a tremendous amount of training and we have relatively few accidents,” he said. “Any time one of our drivers is involved in an accident we do an internal investigation to determine if things could have been done differently.”
