The boys’ basketball team fell to the B-CC Barons Feb. 4 57-50, dropping its record to 9-9.
The boys started the season 1-5 then won eight straight games, but have now lost 3 consecutive games since then.
The team’s offensive spark came from captain Daniel Lowet, who had a great game with 20 points. Captain Andrew Castagnetti, a consistent leading scorer, struggled from the field, scoring only 9 points.
The Vikes trailed for most of the game, but cut it to two points in an exciting run in the fourth quarter. A critical turnover by guard Robby Lund sealed the game for the Barons as B-CC closed the game on a 5-0 run.
“Our shots just weren’t falling,” Castagnetti said. “Now we have to move on and focus on a must-win game against Gaithersburg this Friday.”
The Vikes look to rebound against the Gaithersburg Trojans Feb. 8.
