The girls volleyball team lowered its record to 1-7 with a 3-1 loss against the 8-5 Churchill Bulldogs Oct. 8 at home.
The Vikes struggled from the start, losing the first game to the Bulldogs by a final score of 25-15. The second game was closer with both teams fought hard, but Churchill pulled away and won the game 25-22, giving them a 2-0 lead overall.
The girls refused to give up though and came back strong in the third game. The team took advantage of Churchill’s errors and capitalized on every chance they got. The Vikings won the third game 25-20, but still trailed the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1.
Both teams battled for the win in the fourth and final game, but Churchill ultimately won 25-21, sealing a 3-1 victory.
It has been a rough season for the Vikes thus far, but they hope to pick things up when they take on the undefeated Sherwood Warriors Oct. 11 at home.
