The girls lacrosse team lost to the undefeated Damascus Hornets May 7 with a final score of 20-3, lowering its record to 5-7.
Attacks Sarah Backenstoe and Clara Schneider and midfielder Marissa Hosker netted the three goals that Whitman scored. However, Damascus retained possession and continuously put pressure on the Vikes’ defense.
“I think it was good to play them before playoffs,” attack Josie Schwartz said. “It helped us prepare and showed us what we need to work on.”
The Vikings enter the playoffs May 9 in a rival match-up against the 6-6 BCC Barons for the final home game of season.
