The girls basketball team crushed the 4-8 Richard Montgomery Rockets, 63-31, Jan. 13, improving its record on the season to 8-4.
The Vikes came out strong and never looked back, taking the first quarter 18-9.
Guard Alex Purdy’s dominant offensive play helped the team soar past the Rockets. Purdy hit one of her four three pointers in the second quarter, which the Vikes won 14-3.
The second half was very similar to the first, with the Rockets struggling to find a way to stop the Vikes’ offense and transition game.
Purdy finished the game with 19 points, while center Kristina Feldesman contributed 13 points and seven rebounds of her own.
The girls looks to keep their 3-0 win streak alive when they travel to Walter Johnson to face the 8-3 Wildcats Jan. 20.
