The field hockey team fell in the first round of playoffs, 2-1, against the 10-3 Sherwood Warriors Oct. 28.
The team kept the game close but eventually lost in overtime.
In the first half, the Warriors capitalized on the Vikes’ slow start by scoring an early goal.
From then on, the girls stepped their game up and kept Sherwood at 1-0 going into the second half.
A goal by attacker Cassandra McAlister with only a couple minutes left in regulation pushed the game into overtime.
The girls were dominated by the Warriors’ quick and powerful offense in overtime, however, and the game ended 2-1.
