The volleyball team fell to the Blake Bengal Tigers, 3-0, Oct. 18, dropping its record to 6-5.
Good defense from hitters Eliana Schaefer and Catherine Benz allowed the team to stay relatively close in the match, but the team ultimately fell short in each of the three sets.
The Bengals started the first game on a four-point run. However, mental errors and poor communication from Blake kept the Vikes in the game. Despite the effort, the Vikes fell 25-18 in the first set.
For the second straight game, Blake started the game on a run, this time 5-0. Schaefer put the team on the board with a kill. However, Blake prevailed, winning by a score of 25-19.
Catherine Benz kept the team in the third game, with multiple kills and blocks. Blake won the game, though, to take the match 3-0.
The Vikes hope to improve their record to 7-5 when they face the Northwest Jaguars Oct. 20.
