The girls volleyball team defeated the Wootton Patriots, 3-0, Oct. 11, improving its record to 5-4.The Vikes started the first game off strong, with an ace coming from setter Maddie Craig. The rest of the game was close, and neither team took more than a three-point lead until the Vikes began to pull away. Catherine Benz and Eliana Schaefer sealed the match with back to back kills, winning 25-19.
In set two, the Patriots started out strong, taking a 6-0 advantage. The Vikes fought back hard, however, and won the match 25-21.
In the third and final set, the Vikes and Patriots were even. The game remained close until the Vikes ultimately pulled away due to a kill by Benz.
The team faces the Einstein Titans Oct. 13.
