Quimby’s responsibilities for the show involved working with professional-quality light systems to design the lighting for each scene.

Side Show was nominated for 10 other awards, including Best Musical. At the awards ceremony, the cast performed the number “Tunnel of Love,” which was nominated for Best Song.

Senior David Kanter said he wasn’t disappointed that Side Show didn’t win in any other categories.

“It was a great experience and I’m really proud of the show we put on,” Kanter said. “We don’t do our shows for the Cappies; we do them because it’s what we love to do.”

Kanter also said it was a big year for musicals at the Cappies, so there was a lot of competition.

The drama club will decide next year whether musical Gypsy or play Frankenstein will be considered for the 2011-2012 Cappies.
