Girls crew dominated the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Rowing Association championship on May 14, winning three events and the prestigious “points” trophy.
The team placed first for the varsity women’s first eight and women’s second eight boats, as well as first for the women’s freshmen eight.
They were awarded the points trophy for winning the most cumulative points at the regatta.
The team is now focused on next weekend’s competition at Stotesbury, which is one of the biggest high school regattas in the World. It encompasses over 5,000 rowers from more than 175 high schools.
“Now that we’ve won this race,” varsity rower Harriet Dark said, “our team is really excited to go to Stotsbury and see how we match up against the competition up in Philadelphia.”
