The speakers described the dynamics of a global enterprise and emphasized the importance of building strong partnerships with other corporations.

“To do missions abroad, it’s required that Mitsubishi goes hand-in-hand with its partners,” Mitsubishi representative Tsuney Yanagahira said.

Yanagahira and Honda representative Tak Sonada explained how the corporations operate, including ways the companies deal with a global recession. To minimize any harm that a recession may cause, the companies conduct business in a variety of areas. The two representatives also outlined some example business strategies to the class as well as tips on how to stay ahead of competitors in a global market.

Although Honda suffered losses from the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the company is undeterred from reaching its business goals, such as increasing the profit margin, Sonada said.

“Without the business, you cannot make your dreams into reality,” he said.
