The boys lacrosse team improved its record to 5-1 on April 27, defeating the Richard Montgomery Rockets by a score of 14-8.
The team was able to gain momentum early, scoring just two minutes into the start of the first quarter. Soon after, the team scored again on a play set up by goalie Alex Triay, who left the goal and passed to defensemen Connor Gordon at midfield. Gordon proceeded up the field, carrying the ball until he dished in to Trevor Haines in front of the net for a goal.
From there on out, the team controlled the tempo and momentum of the game.
Multiple Vikings scored more than one goal, including Sam Oshinsky, Trevor Hains, Norris Philleo and Christian Sanson, who scored five goals in the first half. Ryan Craig added another goal.
A barrage of goals allowed the Vikings to take a 12-2 lead going into halftime. In the second half, Sophomores Andrew Bick and Connor Bevirt each added a goal, sealing the game for the Vikings.
The team looks to improve its record on April 29, when it faces Damascus.
