Wiz Khalifa’s energy enraptures 9:30 Club

Rapper Wiz Khalifa made his long awaited debut in D.C. at the 9:30 Club Nov. 18. Khalifa and his entourage, also known as the “Taylor Gang,” played a fairly short set full of radio hits like “Black and Yellow” and “This Plane.”

Not once did the rapper slow down or lose his breath. He recited each line with ease and clarity and his energy level was consistently high throughout the show. The 23-year-old, tattoo-covered rapper jumped and danced around the stage ecstatically and handed out articles of clothing and water bottles to fans  throughout the show.

At the end of the concert, the shirtless Khalifa thanked the crowd and advised everyone to get home safely.

Def Jam artist Big K.R.I.T opened the concert with a 45-minute set that flowed well and kept the crowd engaged.  But it was Khalifa who really shined, captivating the crowd and making them respond to his every move.
