Varsity girls soccer lost to the cross-town rival B-CC Barons 1-0 on Oct. 22, dropping its record to 7-4 on the season.
The Lady Vikes fought hard defensively and had some close shots, including one off the foot of forward Alex Mason that sailed just above the net. Despite several Viking chances, the teams entered halftime knotted at zero.
The teams were evenly matched for most of the game and battled for possession throughout the second half. However, the defending state champions proved too much for the Lady Vikes to handle when a B-CC forward ripped a shot from just inside the box with under 20 minutes left in the game.
The Lady Vikes will look to end their season on a high note against Eleanor Roosevelt on Oct. 25.
