The episode began with an ominous announcement for Glee club: cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester would judge at Regionals. Although Sue normally does everything in her power to end the Glee club, her changed attitude in this episode didn’t surprise many viewers.

“I kind of expected Sue to try and sabotage the glee club,” junior Emily Park says. “After seeing how she is with her sister [earlier in the season], I knew that she really had a good heart.”

Even though Sue voted for McKinley high school’s glee club, New Directions, the group came in last place at the competition. Park says that while this ending was disappointing for viewers, it was better for the show.

“I was surprised but that’s how they’re going to keep the show going,” she says. “I thought that [New Directions and rival glee club, Vocal Adrenaline] would either tie or both go to Regionals, but if New Directions had won there could be only about one more season.”

In the finale, Rachel kissed Finn and he told her he loved her. Puck told Quinn he loved her and wanted to keep their new-born daughter, Beth. Before Regionals, guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury revealed to glee club teacher Will Schuester that she was dating her dentist.

Will and Emma had their shot at love, but they broke up over Will’s rocky split from his wife and immaturity with love. However, at the end of the episode, Will revealed his love for Emma and kissed her. It’s unclear whether they’ll have a happy ending.

“I heard a rumor that John Stamos from Full House will play Emma’s dentist,” Park says. “I think Will will keep fighting and that she’ll see that he’s the one she wants to be with.”

Music in this episode included a medley of Journey songs, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and the Glee version of “To Sir With Love.”

“Gleeks” eagerly await the return of season two in the fall. Will Finn and Rachel stay together? Will Emma and Will get together? And most importantly, will New Directions take home the gold at Regionals?
