Football

The football team (1–1) fell to the Landon Bears (2–0) by a score of 21–3. The Bears defense stalled the Viking offense as only one of the Vikings’ drives resulted in points.

Quarterback Matt Clayton threw for 188 yards in the contest while wide receiver/kicker Carter Hughes added four receptions for 96 yards as well as the lone field goal.

The Vikings face the Einstein Titans at home September 16 at 6:30 PM.

Girls tennis

The girls tennis team (3–0) surpassed the Walter Johnson Wildcats (2–1) with a 6–2 win Friday.

The Vikes played great games led by second singles player Sarinah Wahl winning a highly contested match 7–5, 6–1.

The squad hopes to stay undefeated Tuesday at Poolesville at 3:30.
