After a loss in their season opener, the boys lacrosse team improved to 2-1 this week after blowout wins against Blake (15-6) and Paint Branch (20-2).
In both games, the Vikings dominated from start to finish, which gave them a chance to play some of their reserves.
“These wins were good experiences for us,” attacker Jim Champagne said. “They helped us work out some kinks in our offense and work on our defense before playing Wootton this Thursday.”
Midfielders Richard Miller and Alex Hilsenrath led the Viking attack against Blake, as Miller had three goals, and Hilsenrath had two goals and two assists.
The Vikings ran away from Paint Branch early on in the game, en route to scoring more goals than they did in any game last season.
The Vikes will look to extend their winning streak to three when they take on Blair today.
In order to defeat Blair and Wootton this week, the team needs to play consistently for the whole game, Champagne said.
“When we don’t play 100% it costs us goals,” he said. “We need to work on playing at 100% for the whole game.”
