The softball team fell to the Blake Bengals, 16-6, on Mar. 24, dropping its record to 0-2.
Despite a hard fought match, the Bengals’ infield cohesiveness overwhelmed the Vikings, limiting them to just six runs.
The team’s recent losses are in part due to the lack of practices they’ve had because of snow days. The numerous snow days along with other weather factors have limited the Vikes to six practices, which has limited their overall effectiveness on the field.
“Once the team has had more time to mesh, we will be stronger and more unified,” outfielder Stephanie Bodie said.
The Vikings look to score a win at home and get their season back on track against the Gaithersburg Trojans on Mar. 26.
