The cross country team excelled in its meet Oct. 9 against Sherwood and Wootton, as the girls team picked up its first win of the season.
Caroline Elmendorf and Nicole Ihrie, who finished in second and fifth respectively, led the girls to a victory. Both Elmendorf and Ihrie have been leading the team through the season as two of the fastest runners.
The boys also placed in the meet, with Evan Woods finishing third and Alex Roederer finishing tenth. However, their efforts weren’t enough to beat their opponents for the victory.
“We ran really well today,” head coach Stephen Hays said. “I was really happy for the girls to get their first win.”
