The girls lacrosse team evened its record at 4-4 April 25, defeating the Richard Montgomery Rockets 15-11.
The team started the game in dominant fashion, taking a 7-0 lead. The Vikings showed off their ability to pass the ball, as each of the team’s first seven goals were scored by a different player.
“We came out strong,” head coach Julie Frank said.
The team continued to score throughout the game, with goals coming from Claire Block (5), Clara Schneider (3), Sarah Backenstoe (2), Annabelle Scully (1), Lydia Koroshetz (1), Lara White (1), Josie Schwartz (1) and Marissa Hosker (1). Backenstoe, Schneider, Block and defenseman Emily Berman each had multiple assists.
The team’s goalies performed well against the Rockets, saving 15/26 shots. Goalie Lilly Blum posted a 64% save percentage, stopping 14/22 shots.
The team faces the Blair Blazers April 30.
