The softball team fell to the Gaithersburg Trojans, 7-5, April 12, dropping its record to 1-4.
Tied for most of the game, the Vikings fell on the last play when the Trojans got a hit with three runners on base, putting Gaithersburg on top.
Led by Helen Rosenthal on the mound and solid defense, the team contained the high-powered Gaithersburg offense. Big hits from catcher Sydney Gertzog and shortstop Rachel Sisco propelled the Vikings offense. Outfielders Sam Gonzales led the team on defense.
“We played really well,” outfielder Shannon Ishimoto said. “They just came through at the end.”
