The girls lacrosse team began its season with a win Mar. 22, defeating the Magruder Colonels 18-6 and improving its record to 1-0.
The Vikes dominated the entire game due to strong transition attack and multiple assisted goals. The team showed off its depth with seven players scoring at least one goal.
The defense stayed strong throughout the game, and goalie Lilly Blum let up one goal in the first half while recording 11 saves, which allowed the Vikes to maintain a strong attack on offense.
Although the team got the victory, attack Clara Schneider said the team still needs to get better in certain areas in order to progress.
“We still need some improvement on our transition defense and our ground balls,” Schneider said.
The girls travel to face the Sherwood Warriors Mar. 24.
