The softball team started its season off strong with a 10-6 win in extra innings over the Poolesville Falcons Mar. 21.
The Vikes overcame multiple errors at the beginning of the game to dominate the last four innings due to big hits from several members of the team. The defense held the Falcons to just six runs thanks to solid pitching from Ali Rohde and Helen Rosenthal.
“This was a good, exciting way to start off the season,” Rohde said, “especially because we weren’t expecting to win.”
The team hopes to continue with this momentum as it host the Blair Blazers for its home opener Mar. 23.
