This past summer, Garmin, the leading brand in GPS watches came out with several new and updated technologies.  GPS watches are extremely useful for runners, as they allow them to track distance, heart rate during the duration of the run, and pace.

One such watch is an updated version of their most reliable type, the 405.  The new version, called the 405 CX, is specifically designed for women.  People had complained that the original 405, was too big and clunky to fit on an average woman’s wrist, so this CX is smaller and is equipped with an adjustable wrist strap as well.

Garmin also introduced the Forerunner 310XT this summer, which is the first water proof type that has been offered.  According to Max Lockwood of the Georgetown Running Company, this watch has been extremely popular with Triathletes this fall and it has a much bigger watch face, which has been popular because of the ease in which people can see and read the screen.
