The undefeated girls’ soccer team (10–0) defeated the Walter Johnson Wildcats 2–1 on Monday night at home.
The Vikings started out the first half strong when senior captain Reneé Miller dribbled through numerous players and slotted it between two center-backs to senior Faith Garner-Johnston who punched the ball into the back of the net for a goal.
The Vikings were up by one going into the second half but the Wildcats were able to find the back of the net making it a tie game. Junior Kennedy Eva-Buckner then used her speed to get behind the Wildcat defenders scoring a crucial goal to secure the win for the Vikes..
The Vikings will face the Wootton Patriots (7–1–1) next Monday at Wooton in hopes of continuing their undefeated season.
