The girls’ soccer team shut out the Seneca Valley Screaming Eagles in their home opener Saturday afternoon 6–0.
The Vikings offense dominated the match from the beginning, not even two minutes into the game junior Kennedy Eva-Buckner got the Vikes on the board with the first goal. Five minutes later junior Chiara Laya Ferrari scored off a header. The Vikes led 2–0 within the first ten minutes of the game.
The rest of the game continued this way after senior captain Sascha Beasley and senior Olivia Hansel found the back of the net again giving the Vikings a 4–0 lead over the Eagles going into the second half.
Senior Jasmin Jabara started the second half off strong with a header into the net. The Vikings kept the momentum on their side and their lights-out defense prevented the Eagles from getting any scoring opportunities. Senior Faith Gardner-Johnston scored one last goal for the Vikes to close out an impressive 6–0 victory.
The Vikes will play next Saturday at 12:00 p.m. in hopes of another win against Good Counsel.
