Girls soccer shuts out Sherwood 4–0

The girls soccer team (2–0) destroyed the Sherwood Warriors (0–2) in a 4–0 win on Tuesday night.

Continuing the dominance that was their season opener, the Vikes extended their shutout streak to two games. The offense was relentless and full of energy throughout the entire match, giving the Warriors no chance.

In the first half, junior Talia Feigin scored, setting the tone for what would be a high scoring blowout. Toward the end of the half, junior Sheridan Snow took the field and immediately found the back of the net twice, giving the Vikes a 3–0 lead going into the break.

“Snow entered with about 11 minutes left in the half, and within one minute of play time scored two goals,” said head coach Greg Herbert.

Snow carried her hot streak into the second half, firing in another goal to increase the lead to 4–0. Her hat trick was the first of many for the Vikes this season.

Sherwood had a rough time producing anything offensively due to Whitman’s defense, said Herbert.

“I think Sherwood got one legitimate shot on goal, maybe two,” said Herbert. “The defense as a whole did really well to limit the opportunities for Sherwood’s offense.”

The Vikes will look to continue their dominance on Thursday night when they take on the Damascus Hornets (0–2) at home.
