Boys soccer takes down Paint Branch 2–1

The boys soccer team (4–1–1) beat the Paint Branch Panthers (0–3–1) 2–1 Thursday evening.
The Vikes took a quick two-goal lead in the first ten minutes of the first half, with goals from wingers Hugo Barnes and Harmond Cohen. The score at half remained 2–0, with the Vikes maintaining the majority of possession.
This trend continued in the second half, but the Vikes were unable to net additional goals. The Panthers managed to finish one of their few chances in the final five minutes, bringing the score to 2–1.
Cohen played strong offense, attacking the Panthers defense and scoring one of the Vikes’ two goals. Midfielder Aaron Gunther played good possession soccer, helping the team keep the ball throughout both halfs.
The Vikes next face the B–CC Barons (0–3) Tuesday at 7:15 pm at B–CC High School.
