The girls soccer team (1–1) took down the Northwest Jaguars (2–3) 2–0 Tuesday night in the team’s home opener.

The Vikes started out strong when midfielder Meagan Olsen darted a shot past the opposing goalie making the score 1–0. The Vikes couldn’t find the back of the net the rest of the half, but the team’s strong defense allowed them to take a 1–0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, forward Isabella Bravo scored for the Vikes ten minutes into the half, making it 2–0. The defense stayed strong for the rest of the game, allowing the Vikes to shut-out the Jaguars.

The team next plays the Paint Branch Panthers (0–3) Saturday at 12 pm at home.
