The girls tennis team (2–4) fell to the undefeated Wootton Patriots 1–6 Thursday.

The Vikes faced tough competition all around. Junior Eve Gold played a hard-fought match in her third doubles competition, and doubles Sophie Holmes and Molli Hillman bounced back from a 2–6 loss in their first set to a 7–5 win in their second set, earning the Vikes’ only win.

While the team is upset about the loss, the players are hopeful for their next competition against the B–CC Barons Monday at 3:30 at B–CC.

“I think we all played the best we could,” sophomore Abby Chen said. “Some of us have off days but we played our best. The win wasn’t meant for us today.”
