Girls tennis falls to QO, Richard Montgomery

Tuesday

The girls tennis team (1–2) fell to the Quince Orchard Cougars in a close 3–4 competition Tuesday.

Because the Cougars were a division II team, the DI Vikes went into the match with confidence. But with many starters sick and unable to play, the Vikes decided to play an alternative match for their doubles two and three teams: all players were substitutes.

Despite the surprising loss, both the doubles two and three teams and sophomore Sasha McLeod dominated their matches.

The girls tennis team (1–2) fell to the Richard Montgomery Rockets 2–5 Wednesday.

Sophomore Abby Chen defeated her opponent in the first two matches of her singles competition, but fell 4–6 in her third match. Doubles Eve Gold and Sasha McLeod obliterated their opponents, winning both matches 6-0.

The Vikes next compete against the Churchill Bulldogs Tuesday at 3:30 at Churchill. Despite their losses, the Vikes are looking to improve their performance for their upcoming matches.

“Our team dynamic is fantastic,” Chen said. “For our next matches we want to be able to finish our points and decrease our forced efforts.”
