The girls lacrosse team (12–1) defeated the Walter Johnson Wildcats (13–2) 12–3 in the regional semifinals Tuesday. The game was continued with 20:03 remaining in the first half after the game was suspended Monday due to severe weather conditions.

Midfielder Gaby Svec led the squad with three goals as the team dominated offensively, leading 9–0 at the end of the first half.

“We won almost every draw and and stayed composed on attack,” Svec said. “[WJ] started to get frustrated and started fouling.”

Although the Wildcats scored three quick goals to start the second half, the Vikes kept their composure and didn’t allow a goal for the rest of the game.

We need to work together,” Svec said. “We must stay composed and keep driving in order to win.”
