The boys tennis team (9–1) placed third in the county championships Thursday and will advance to regionals Monday.

The three day competition was comprised of 25 schools from Montgomery County. Wootton placed first overall with Churchill coming in second, and the Vikes managed a spot at third.

Evin McDonald and Zach Rosen had standout performances in their matches, earning points for the Vikes overall.

“Evin McDonald played number one singles and won in the finals of the one-singles,” coach Jasen Gohn said. “And then Zach Rosen won at four singles and went undefeated this year.”

The Vikes hope to continue their winning streak next week at regionals, starting Monday at 3:15 at Walter Johnson.
