Boys basketball overwhelm Wildcats by 20 points

By Jessie Solomon

After a handful of tough losses, the boys basketball team (3‒4) dominated the Walter Johnson Wildcats (3‒5) in a 60‒40 victory.

With their last game also being against a crosstown rival, the Vikes were able to redeem and come back out on top against the Wildcats. In their disappointing game last week, many players scored more offensively and were all over the boards.

Center Rodrigo Ruiz struggled in their last game, scoring only two points. But, Ruiz showed up and was one of the Vikes’ leading scorers with 16 points, one point behind guard Joey Squeri.

The Vikes hope to start a win streak on Monday against the Quince Orchard Cougars at 5:30 p.m.
