The boys lacrosse team (11–4) defeated the Richard Montgomery Rockets (7–8) 10–4 in their first playoff game, eliminating the Rockets and moving on to the second round.

The boys were able to secure the win through a powerful defensive and offensive performance. Even when the team took penalties and went “man down,” they still managed to maintain steady defense with the help of goalie Jackson Parker.

Leading the charge for the Vikes were midfielders Douglas Bruchalski with three goals and Owen Roegge with two goals, as well as attacker Jack Bickford with three goals.

If the team hopes to advance in playoffs they must remain consistent in their offensive and defensive fronts and continue to attack as much as possible, midfielder Luke Walker said.

“Our hopes are to see how far we can go, but staying focused one game at a time,” Roegge said. “If we come out focused and take every team seriously, we have a good shot at going far in the playoff bracket.”

The Vikes now advance to the second round of playoffs to play rival BCC Barons on Friday at 3 p.m. at home.
