October 5 Sports Recap

By Amy Nankin and Joey Squeri

Girls tennis

The girls tennis team wrapped up the season with a 7–0 shut out against the Quince Orchard Cougars, finishing the season undefeated and reigning division one champs.

Coming out on top from the regular season, the girls team hopes for the same results throughout counties and hopefully into states later in the year.

“We had a really great season and great team chemistry between all of the players,” junior Danielle Berman said. “We worked on our skills a lot and expect great things from counties.”

Counties will begin October 17th.

Field hockey

The field hockey team (5–4) was defeated by the St. John’s Cadets 2–0 Wednesday, as the Vikes offense couldn’t crack the Cadets back line. The Vikes have now been shutout in two of the last three games.

The Vikes next play Oct. 14 home vs. BCC.
