In a previous article, “BOE weighs a return to earlier start times,” the Black & White stated that the BOE is considering returning to earlier start times due to backlash from elementary school parents. Although we did speak to two reliable sources in the County with knowledge of Board proceedings, we made this claim without talking to a Board representative. While it is true that there has been significant backlash, and that the Board is indeed evaluating the change, an interview with SMOB Eric Guerci suggests that a reversal lacks support from the Board and won’t be voted on.
