The 6–2 coed volleyball team demolished the 0–8 Springbrook Blue Devils Monday, easily winning 3–0.
“They didn’t provide much competition for us today,” coach Elizabeth Keating said. “So it went pretty well.”
The Vikes maximized their scoring opportunities, taking advantage of Springbrook’s minimal defense and weak hitting. The Vikings took the first set 25–6 without any struggle.
The second set was similar, and the Devils were disheartened as the Vikes’ perfectly aimed spikes hit the court without fail each time. Springbrook’s back row players could not keep up with the serves, and when they did get the ball they were unable to successfully return it over the net, leading them to fall 25–7.
Much of the same was seen during the third set, as the Vikings dismantled the opposing team 25–8 thanks to their spikes and tips.
None of the Devils’ points from the game were won off of their own hits; they were all points from Viking errors, further highlighting Springbrook’s inexperience.
The Vikings celebrate their senior night Wednesday at 7 before taking on the Wootton Patriots at home.
