Regardless of summer activities, be it traveling or staying at home, it’s hard to transition into the fall routine of extracurriculars and homework. Kramerbooks & Afterwords:
Kramerbooks & Afterwords cafe offers an opportunity to enjoy the crisp fall air, pie, and live music Wednesday through Saturday nights. The cafe offers a variety of music genres from Folk/Blues to Acoustic Pop. The cafe is located in Dupont Circle and is open 24 hours Fridays and Saturdays and 7:30 a.m-1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.
The Big Chair Café:
There’s nothing better than watching the changing leaves and beautiful fall colors pop up from a street side café—but the world’s largest chair brings this experience to new heights. Visit the Big Chair Coffee n’ Grill to enjoy brunch while marveling at a 19-feet-tall piece of furniture. This cute coffee shop is a hidden gem and is locally owned. It’s open for coffee as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner at 2122 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. SE.
The Capital Wheel and National Harbor:
Experience one of the most scenic cities in the U.S. from the Capital Wheel, D.C.’s 180-foot Ferris wheel. The wheel has views overlooking downtown D.C., the Potomac and the National Harbor. Stay after the ride and experience all that the National Harbor has to offer including paddle boarding, kayaking, shopping, and dining.
Yoga in the Park:
The only thing more relaxing than yoga is FREE yoga. With all the stress of tests, essays and more, Lululemon offers great yoga opportunities for some down time. Free classes are offered every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Dupont Circle—it’s a great break from homework without taking too much time away from other activities.
