The now 4-5 field hockey team’s four game win streak came to an end with a heartbreaking 0-1 defeat against the Walter Johnson Wildcats.
The game was intense from the start. Despite strong defense from Vikes goalie Kate Goldberg, the Wildcats broke through to score the only goal of the game.
The chances of a Viking division title are now slowly slipping away, as the team is stuck in the middle of its division. The 8-2 Churchill Bulldogs currently lead the division followed by Wootton and Walter Johnson.
The Vikes look to end the season on a positive note in their final two games left against the B-CC Barons and the Richard Montgomery Rockets, Oct. 10 and 16.
