The gymnastics team defeated the Gaithersburg Trojans and the Sherwood Warriors May 1 at Sherwood with 160 points.
Captain Sam Buxbaum sprung the Vikes to victory with a clear first place finish in the balance beam, uneven bars and floor exercise events and a tie for first place in the four-vault. Sherwood finished in second place and Gaithersburg followed in third.
All team members placed in every event, giving them a huge confidence boost for the counties meet May 8, which will be the last meet of the season.
“The team is looking really good and there is a real sense of spirit and camaraderie among all of the girls,” Buxbaum said.
The victory was the team’s first full win of the season, in which it defeated both of its opponents.
“We did awesome on Tuesday,” junior Natalie Kra said. “I hope we can do the same next week and bring home the county title.”
The team looks to finish first in the county at their final meet on May 1 at B-CC.
