Police arrested two male teenagers after they harassed and physically assaulted two Whitman students yesterday, said officer Rebecca Innocenti, a Montgomery County police spokesperson. Neither Whitman student was seriously injured.
At approximately 2:39 p.m. yesterday, police responded to a call reporting a robbery from the 7600 block of Whittier Boulevard. Officers on the scene determined that three male teenagers had approached two male students, who were walking across the street from school.
A verbal argument began, and the suspects directed racial slurs at the students. As the students walked away, the suspects followed them down Whittier Boulevard, towards Wilson Lane.
Two of the suspects began grabbing and pushing the victims, and sometime during this altercation, one of the students dropped his backpack and attempted to run away.
The suspects picked up the backpack and boarded a Ride On bus. A Whitman security guard took out the suspects from the bus, principal Alan Goodwin wrote in a Whitnet email Friday morning. The police investigated the suspects pulled off the bus, one of whom ran into the neighborhood but was later caught, Goodwin wrote.
Police charged one of the suspects, a 19-year-old male, with two counts of second-degree assault on both victims, one count of theft under $100 for taking the backpack and one count of race harassment. Police also arrested a 16-year-old male and charged him with two counts of second-degree assault, one count of race harassment, one count of conspiracy to commit theft under $100 and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, believed to be for marijuana.
“I want to thank school security, neighbors and the police for the swift, helpful actions they took,” Goodwin said in the email. “Indeed, ‘it takes a village.’”

ALL OF THE ACCOUNTS OF SOMEONE BEING TASED ARE COMPLETELY FALSE. Whomever decided to LIE about this should be ashamed. As an actual witness to the altercation, I can say with 100% certainty that no tasing of any kind took place. There were also no knives involved. It is completely irresponsible for anyone to suggest otherwise.

One also tried to run away from the police. Yeah, the hallmarks of a good citizen.

They tries to attack someone?! They also had Pot and might of been intoxicated! Not really an overreaction.

Reporters, you should interview witnesses of the tasing or people who claim to have seen the tasing. As long as you properly attribute them the information they provide is valid. Just because the police say something didn’t happen doesn’t necessarily mean it didn’t happen.
XYZ AFFAIR • Oct 24, 2011 at 10:54 am
Yes, there was a student tazed, and there was a knife involved- what happened to the knife- or the report about the tazing is unknown.
Lolpnats • Oct 24, 2011 at 8:31 am
Hmmm…maybe the taser kid tased him!

“Rebecca Innocenti denied the report and said that she would have a record of the tasing if it happened.”
Because conflict of interest doesn’t exist.

There have been rumors among Pyle students that the alleged suspects were carrying knives. Is there any truth to this rumor?
Lucy Chen • Oct 23, 2011 at 11:32 pm
The police did not mention any knives involved in the incident.

“The police investigated the suspects pulled off the bus, one of whom ran into the neighborhood but was later caught, Goodwin wrote.” — unless it was an incredible coincidence, and it was some other suspect, what Goodwin didn’t write is that this other suspect was “apprehended” while he sat on a curb in front of the ride on shelter at Whittier and Wilson, put his hands up and was tased in the neck by a cop in front of lots of Pyle students.

We also received reports of police tasing a suspect, but when we asked the police to confirm, officer Rebecca Innocenti denied the report and said that she would have a record of the tasing if it happened.
