Why did you join the Black & White? My dad is a professional journalist and the details and responsibilities of his job have always intrigued me. The idea of “spreading the news” rather than just absorbing it is also very appealing. I like the Black&White especially because it’s fun to contribute to the student-led, collaborative environment of the newspaper.
Why are you well suited to write/edit for your section or to perform your job?
Multimedia reporting --videography -- attracted me because it was something that I had never done before but wanted to master. I believe it is also the frontier of modern journalism in the digital age; that same philosophy is the reason why the Black&White prides itself on its award-winning website. I sincerely believe that a picture is worth 1,000 words, and through illustrations (as a cartoonist) or videos (as a columnist), I can convey meaning in a unique way.
