Team 2 plaintiff for mock trial (3–2) beat the previously undefeated Poolesville Falcons (4–1) Thursday in quarterfinals of mock trial playoffs with a final score of 47–46. This is the first time Whitman mock trial has made it past the first round of playoffs.

Team 2 defense for mock trial (2–2) beat the Einstein Titans (3–2) Tuesday in mock trial playoffs after being randomly chosen by the Citizenship Law Related Education Program to advance, despite their two losses in the normal season. The final score was 50–46.

After not qualifying for playoffs automatically, mock trial Team 2 (2 – 2) was randomly pulled up to playoffs Tuesday. The Maryland mock trial program is organized under the Citizenship Law Related Education Program, which announced last week that it would randomly choose two 2 – 2 teams to advance to playoffs. Under usual circumstances, a team must have a record consisting of at most one loss to advance to playoffs.

Whitman’s mock trial Team 1 (2 –2), the defense, lost by a single point to Whitman’s Team 2 (2 – 2) Tuesday night at the Montgomery County Circuit Courthouse. The final score was 46 – 47.

Quizbowl team falls short in playoffs

The Quizbowl team was knocked out of playoffs with a final score of 1 – 2 Thursday night at Blair High School after narrowly losing to the Wootton Patriots in the third round. The team lost the first round to the Rockville Rams, followed by a victory against the Bullis Bulldogs. After being tied 420 – 420 in round one, the Rams were able to secure the final two bonus questions.

The plaintiff for mock trial Team 1 (2 – 1) dominated the Seneca Valley Screaming Eagles by five points and the defense for Team 2 (1 – 2) lost by 11 points to the Blair Blazers Thursday night at the Montgomery County Circuit Courthouse.
