Football Suffers Second Loss of Season

Varsity Football lost to the Springbrook Blue Devils 13-8, Oct 23, falling to 6-2 on the season.

The game started off in a standstill, staying that way throughout the first half, with no points scored by either team. The third quarter remained deadlocked until, with less then two minutes left , the Blue Devils scored a touchdown and went up 7-0.

The Vikings started off the final quarter strong, slowly gaining territory. Finally quarterback Henry Kuhn and wide receiver Michael Flack connected for a touchdown for the sixth time this season. After a two point conversion rushing by Kuhn, the Vikes led 8-7.

Springbrook came back with a quick touchdown which left Whitman trailing for the rest of the game. Eventually the Blue Devils took a knee and ran out the clock, ending the game at 13-8.

This was a huge loss, not onlybecause it was senior night, but also because it puts the Vikings at a risk to not make the playoffs.

Next week, the boys will travel to Seneca Valley tto take on the 5-3 Eagles.
