Eleven students competed at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia April 21-24. Whitman DECA executive vice president Thomas Fratantoni placed second in his event, Quick Serve Restaurant Management Series.

This is the first time a Whitman student has placed and only the second time a Whitman student has finaled at ICDC, a competition consisting of around 20,000 competitors. The first time was last year when then sophomore Fratantoni finaled in the same event. Junior Ben Meron also received a medal for doing well on the test competitors have to take before role plays and which account for a percent of a competitor’s overall score.

The DECA competition season is now over.
