**By Yeiwah Brewah**

Varsity softball fell to the Gaithersburg Trojans, 4-3, May 13, in the first round of playoffs.

The ladies started the game out strong, scoring three consecutive runs and taking the lead in the first inning and holding it into the third. In the third inning, however; the Trojans scored two runs, putting the Vikes down by one.

Despite a perfect inning of pitching by Ali Rohde, and several important catches by outfielders Rachel Sisco and Shannon Ishimoto, the Vikes were unable to score for the remaining innings.

With strong underclassmen on the team, the Lady Vikes look to next year for a longer playoff season.
